He breathed in. He breathed out

He breathed in. He breathed out.

He sat down to write. He closed his eyes to think. He did not need to see the keyboard since he knew the touch of the keyboard keys. His finger muscles remembered where each of the keys were positioned. That part of his brain which stored habits and patterns had created new brain circuitry to remember it all.

The moment, he started writing the time slowed. He forgot about the past. His worries and expectations for the future faded away. Only the present moment mattered. The one character or word he typed, he did so with full attention. No judgement. Just awareness.

It was lunch time. he thought about food. He thought about movies about food. He thought about home. He thought about when he will go home. Then he was aware that he was thinking about the future and then he gently brought his mind back to the present moment.

He breathed in. He breathed out. His rocking chair gently rocked back and forth.

He thought about the work he had to do. All the things that were still unplanned. Ah! he realized. There is the planning part of my brain at work. He then gently brought his mind back to the present moment.

He breathed in. He breathed out. His rocking chair gently rocked back and forth.

The gentle instrumental music played in the background. He listened. For the note being played at the present moment. It was beautiful. He wished he listened to more music that would be as beautiful as this one. Ah! he realized, there is another wish going from heart to the heaven. He then gently brought his mind back to the present moment.

He breathed in. He breathed out. His rocking chair gently rocked back and forth.

His fingers kept typing out words on the screen. When he opened his eyes, he saw that he had mistyped some of his words. He hit backspace to correct them.Ah! he realized. His attempts at control. He gently brought his mind back to the present moment.

He breathed in. He breathed out. His rocking chair gently rocked back and forth.

He noticed that he had written some couple of lines. He felt happy. He wished he would write more. And more often. He regretted wasting time on watching television or movies endlessly until it almost numbed his mind. Ah! he realized, regrets about the past is moving into his mind. He gently brought his mind back to the present moment.

He breathed in. He breathed out.
